The upswing's gone

The 4rd week already of this Fixed Limit adventure. Up and down it went, with an almost breakeven result of $9.65, being 0.34BB/100. This brings the total BB/100 over all played hands down significant but at least another week with positive results.

The stats above are perfect in my opinion, it was just getting rivered many many times. I will post the hand replayer asap with some of these hands. The most important thing is to stay calm when getting rivered all the time. And that's not easy at all... Well, as long as we can play breakeven in these period missing the luck, it's not bad at all. Let's hope we can look upwards again very soon.

The weekly graph tells it all, the only thing won this week are FPP's. Our weekley graphs are getting worse by every post but that has to change. The only question is when?...

Being very busy with other job we did not succeed in watching any vid this week. (Yes, I know we should have done that). Reading a chapter in "Limit Hold'em: winning short-handed strategies" we did and the start of the review will be posted soon.

Facing more serious downswings

The 3rd week was heavy. We faced the first serious downswings, a 150BB and a 100BB with a remarkable recovery in between. Well, overall a winning week again with a final result of $99.60, being 2.19BB/100.

The 150BB downswing was a very long session on one day. So once in a downswing like this it's very hard to get out of it and one starts playing looser and looser, getting a bit tilty. So it's a must to implement some rules when facing such a downswing.
In the previous weeks we were down over 50BB sometimes but always recovered from that in the same session. It looks like the borderline is 75BB, once over there it's very hard to recover within the same session. That idea was confirmed in the last session of the week where we went over a loss of 75BB, played many more hands but did not recover and ended with a negative of almost 100BB.

In the weekly graph we see the two bigger downswings but overal still running great. We played 1K hands more this week, a few sessions at 4 tables the same time and that felt ok. More hands also means more FPP's, more FPP bonus and we even might reach Platinum Star level...

We did not take enough time for reading and watching vids this week so we should create some detailed rules to follow for that too. Let's start with something like this:

- Quit the session when reaching 75BB negative
- Quit the session when reaching 180 minutes playing time
- Reading at least 1 chapter of a selected poker book a week
- Watching at least 1 training video a week

Rules will be applied from now and reviewed in the coming weeks. More rules might follow...

Still running fine

The 2nd week went fantastic too! Not completely as smooth as last week but overall we reached very good results again. Over 3800 hands with a total result of $204,15 being 5.35 BB/100. Notice I'm writing in "we"-form, while of course I'm the only one playing, that's just the way I like to write...

We had two short downswings this time of 60 a 80 BB's but kept playing and found the way up in the same session. We also used our FPP's for a cash bonus this week; 5000 FPP for a $50 bonus that's released after playing a few hundred more hands. With this number of played hands it will be possible to clear such a bonus on a regular base.

In the weekly graph we see the two downswings but the overal trend is up! After 10K hands we will publish the 10K graph to see the complete picture.

We finished a few more chapters of "Limit Hold'em: winning short-handed strategies" and also watched some great Limit Hold'em vids from Rob Hollink. The Dutch WSOP bracelet winner in, oh yes, the 10.000 Limit Hold'em tournament. He won the tourney and cashed $496.931.

Some interesting hands we played will be added soon in a nice flash poker hand replayer, just figuring that out at the moment. So lots more to come here, please return frequently if you like.
